The “Adamello” group and the “Brenta Dolomites” group, although very close and separated by the “Rendena” Valley, have totally different characteristics. Both from a geological point of view - granite (Tonalite rock) in the “Adamello” and Dolomite in the Brenta - and as regards the morphology of the territory - open slopes and glaciers on one side and steep spiers with deep gullies on the other-.

Mountaineering and more on this 4000m peak in the central Alps

On the border between Lombardy and Switzerland, the Bernina is the mountain massif over 4000 meters to the east of the Alps. In the summer, classic mountaineering on ridges and glaciers is the main activity.

In winter  we find here the ideal terrain for freeriding using the Corvatsch / Diavolezza ski lifts and for ski mountaineering for all levels.

The Dolomites have always been considered among the most spectacular mountains in the world. Thanks to their beauty and landscape uniqueness, in 2009 the Dolomites were included in the Unesco World Heritage list. Geographically, the Dolomite area covers a vast area that extends between the regions of Trentino-Alto Adige, Veneto and Friuli.

Lake Garda with its Mediterranean climate creates a very special atmosphere on the southern side of the Italian Alps. Here you can find olive trees, lemons and vineyards not far from the Dolomite peaks exceeding 3000 meters. This great combination of the lake and the mountains, especially in its northern part, represents a unique area for outdoor lovers. In one day it will be possible to enjoy windsurfing and the beaches and then go climbing or mountain biking.

Mountaneering and Freeride Paradise between Italy and Switzerland

Da un lato troviamo il famoso comprensorio sciistico di Breuil-Cervinia ai piedi del Monte Rosa, sovrastato dall’ imponente mole del Cervino/Matterhorn, mentre dall’altra il fiabesco paese di Zermatt (Canton Vallese) punto d’accesso,oltre che al Cervino e Monte Rosa, alle cime della Corona Imperiale (Weisshorn, Bishorn, Obergabelhorn, Zinalrothorn etc…). Vi presentiamo qui alcune salite scelte, sia facili su ghiacciaio, ma anche più impegnative fino alla salita del Cervino. Per l’inverno, invece, assolutamente imperdibile per gli appassionati di freeride è il comprensorio sciistico Alagna/Gressoney/Champoluc.

Divided between the provinces of Trento, Bolzano and Sondrio, the Ortles-Cevedale group offers wide glaciers and peaks over 3500m with climbs and descents for all tastes. If technical summer mountaineering on the Cevedale ridge prevails in the Ortles area, we find many itineraries on easy glaciers, ideal as an approach to mountaineering or courses. Let's not forget the Gran Zebrù / Koenigspitze which alone is worth a visit to climb its challenging slopes. In winter, the peaks around Cevedale become the paradise of winter ski mountaineering, but above all in spring with many trips with a considerable difference in height, but thanks to the welcoming huts suitable for many skiers. Let's not forget the ski resorts of Solda and Santa Caterina Valfurva for freeriding where, given the altitude and exposure, it is easy to find beautiful snow.

By border valleys we mean the Tyrolean valleys located north and south of the Brenner Pass, between North and South Tyrol (Wipptal in German). It is a region known for both summer and winter hiking with numerous itineraries for snowshoes and ski mountaineering that reach many peaks over 3000 m. For ice climbing enthusiasts it is worth mentioning the well-known destinations of, Ötztal, Reif in Taufers, Pitztal, Zillertal, Matrei in Osttirol and many others, which allow us a safe and fun approach to the discipline.
